Two blogworthy pieces of mail aka not bills or junk circulars–woohoo! ummm wait I need a friend that writes letters oh well…. First part of the yarn I purchased with my b-day monies. You remember the cashiola I specifically asked for to purchase yarn? I vote it doesn’t break LINT since its like a gift certificate at the great www.virtualyarnshopwhereveryoucanfindit. A kit to make Joan Schroader’s Cats Day Shawl in Indigo Sajama Alpaca. Now discontinued so if you come accross masses of it in purple and are feeling flush think of me. Then 4pm a knock on the door. Who could it possibly be? The FedEx guy shows up at 9 am, UPS around 11 am, USPS around noon. Nobody knocks on my door at 4 pm. It was a second delivery from USPS:
That, my friends, is from Canada. Kinda unexpected. Part of the Fibertraditions Magic Box. Its basically a stash redistribution box which is going around on several groups. I seeded 5 boxes and sent them off and the Canadian participants, having no way of knowing where their zone’s box would be once customs and border patrol had their way, just sent it directly to me. Plus we figured those peskety customs and border patrolees might add duties or some such in addition to the long assed time it would take to travel. So I knew it was coming I was just surprised. I immediately picked out some white single ply lace to fingering weight wool. Kinda scratchy, kinda hairly but white lace to fingering. A mystery yarn that reminds me of icelandic laceweight from Schoolhouse Press. My daughters are being insistent on some Pingouin Mohair et Soie in baby pink. I am thinking about that one too but don’t want to be greedy. We shall see what happens when the next major box hits me since its my plan to distribute the Canadian’s offerings amongst the main boxes. Anyway here’s the gratuitous yarn shot:
Til tomorrow guys have a great yarny day!
