Like Riding a Bike

Last week I got some yarn from Cascade for a few small, quick projects. The first I am working on is a hat using intarsia. Now intarsia is not my favorite thing to work. I love the finished effect and have quite a few intarsia patterns kitted up in my yarn bins but the actual knitting always makes me feel a bit insecure. Which is odd given that once I get into the swing of things I enjoy it and feel a overblown sense of satisfaction. This time is proving to be about the same. I have ripped and restarted once already. Checked several books for how best to lock my new colors and make my butterflies as well as watched YouTube videos. I LOVE how you can find almost everything knit related on YouTube. Such a difference from 30 some years ago when I started knitting seriously. Anyway now that I have refreshed my memory on how to do intarsia {it has been at least 5 years since I attempted any intarsia} I am patting myself on the back for how well it is going. Typical. So although it isn’t exactly like riding a bike I am getting my riding legs going. Yay!
