Am I the only knitter that thinks that new to stash yarn is nicer than whatever is in stash? I hope not. Anyway here is the promised picture of my new improved yarns:
I realize it looks like nothing special esp when you take into account that I work with a lot of handpainted luxery yarns. Work being the operative word. We have a cone of 12,000 yards of laceweight Polwarth which my friend Sam assured me was a to die for fiber. We also have a cone of navy sportweight merino @2700 yds which one hopes is more than enough to make me something cutie patootie. And then some cotton which, believe it or not, is too fine for me. I purchased it to make Princess Shawl which I am not likeing in white and this particular cotton is about half the grist of #70 crochet cotton. We have about 6000 yds of that to play with. I will probably double or quadrupel it and make a tank or something. It will end up aging in the stash for quite some time while I think about big ol tablecloth//shawl vs garment.
I’ve noticed an alarming trend in the gray knitting. I never used to knit with gray but these past few months its what I am drawn towards. Maybe I am in a funk? My husband thinks I am in a funk. I am thinking purples, blues, and gray with the splash of white or green or berry colors will be my wardrobe colors which I guess is a step up from black, black, and black with black or black for contrast. Still gray just strikes me as a dreary color. I really do wonder why I am knitting it so much lately. Oh nevermind.
A yarny day and knitterly evening to you… toodles!
